I LOVE DIVING! It's as simple as that. From the moment I took my first breath from a regulator, I knew that I was hooked. There is nothing else in life that compares with the feeling I get from scuba diving. The only thing better than being weightless in the water and witnessing all that the oceans have to offer is the ability to share it all with my friends and loved ones. My "family" is forever growing as my students become divers and join us on our trips. Whether it is a day trip to West Palm or a week-long liveaboard to the Galapagos Islands, every dive has the potential to change your life! I welcome you to come dive with us and see for yourself. I was born and raised in the “sharks tooth capital of the world”, Venice, FL. I had always wanted to get certified as a diver, and finally took the plunge while stationed at Patrick AFB. I initially signed myself and my son up as a way of “father and son bonding”, what I didn’t expect was how addicted I would become.
When I retired from the Air Force I knew I didn’t want a “real job” where I had to wear pants and shoes, so I decided to share my love of the ocean with others and teach SCUBA. With the encouragement of my instructor and friend Steve Metcalf, I became a certified PADI instructor in 2005. I have been working with Mike ever since.
Night dives are my favorite type of diving and one of my most enjoyable dive sites is Juno Ledge, between Jupiter and West Palm. One of the things I stress is to use diving as an excuse to go somewhere and do something that you normally wouldn’t. Thru teaching and our numerous diving vacations we have been fortunate to make many new friends and I look forward to making more. Ask any of our students what the most important thing to remember when diving is and they will tell you “have fun”.
